A BayNet and SLA event: A tour of the California Academy of Sciences
Date: November 4, 2004
Librarian Anne Malley described the move of the California Academy of Sciences from Golden Gate Park to its new temporary home at 875 Howard Street in San Francisco, gave an overview of the fascinating collections in the Naturalist Center, and demonstrated the Manzanita image resources. This was followed by a tour of the Academy archives and rare book collection, including an original double elephant folio of Audubon's "Birds of America."

A BayNet Event: A tour of the San Jose State University King Library
Date: October 6, 2004
Dr. Patricia Senn Breivik, the Dean of the Library, spoke about lifelong learning, its relationship to both the information literacy movement and the creation of the award winning King Library.

BayNet Annual Meeting:
Featuring internet guru Gary Price, co-author of The Invisible Web and the compiler/editor of the Resourceshelf. Price will speak at our annual meeting on three main topics, with Q&A sessions in between.

A BayNet and SLA Joint Event: "Playing It By Ear: A Tour Of The California Library Of Natural Sounds"
Paul Matzner, founder of the Nature Sounds Society, presented an after-hours demonstration and tour highlighting the largest publicly accessible nature sounds library west of the Mississippi.

A BayNet and SLA Joint Dinner Event: Grokker2 and Califa
R.J. Pittman of Groxis spoke about the search engine Grokker2, and a presentation by the Califa Group covered their peer-to-peer membership network of California libraries.
