Senior Library Assistant - Circulation, Campbell Campus Library, John F. Kennedy University, Campbell. Regular, part-time position, 28 hours per week: Monday -Thursday, 1:45 pm - 7:30 pm, Saturday 10 am - 3 pm. Salary range $11 - $14 per hour plus vacation, sick leave and a flexible benefit plan which includes medical. dental, 401(k) retirement eligibility, dependent care, voluntary life and/or long term care insurance and tuition waiver. The requirements of this position include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent (a Library technician's certificate or library experience may substitute for up to two years of college). Some library experience and knowledge of automated circulation functions is desirable. Further requirements include excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, Windows computer literacy, accurate typing, the ability to alphabetize and work with decimal numbers, the ability to operate and trouble shoot audiovisual equipment, demonstrated attention to minute detail in past work experience, the ability to work independently once trained, and the ability to prioritize work and handle interruptions. Experience with the Innovative Interfaces library system or Docline is a plus. The responsibilities of this position include circulation, AV and interlibrary loan functions including checking items in and out, holds notification, course reserve materials maintenance, audiovisual scheduling and delivery, interlibrary loan processing, and patron assistance. The Senior Library Assistant is the sole library staff member on duty evenings and weekends, and is responsible for closing the building at the end of the business day. The successful candidate will possess an outgoing, energetic manner, the ability to work as a team member and to work well with a diverse, adult constituency.
