Kalmanovitz Library, University of California San Francisco, San Francisco, California: Processing Supervisor

The UCSF Kalmanovitz Library and the Center for Knowledge Management seeks applications from qualified individuals for the position of Processing Supervisor, classified as a Library Assistant IV, Supervisor. This is a full-time, career position.

The Processing Supervisor is responsible for all aspects of day-to-day processing of library materials including books, journals, continuations, non-book material, and dissertations. The incumbent conducts routine business with vendors; leads work and supervises staff who order, claim, post and act upon publisher reports, establish and maintain records in various systems/databases and bindery preparation. The Processing Supervisor is also responsible for understanding the software and procedures of various vendors and vendor systems with the ability to function efficiently within these systems, and transfer data between these systems and the Library's ILS; identifying and analyzing problems in ordering, receiving, processing, bindery preparation, and mail services. This position reports to the Librarian-Manager for Resources Management.

Required Qualifications: 2-3- years experience with various aspects of library technical services work: book and journal ordering, receiving, processing, bindery preparation; experience with book and journal vendors and vendor software; experience with supervision; experience with an online catalog and an ILS, preferably INNOPAC; ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively within a team and within the larger library organization./p>

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with health sciences serials; experience with OCLC.

Compensation: The position is classified as a Library Assistant IV, Supervisor. The base salary range is $2,600 - $4,292 per month, full time rate. Starting salary usually in the lower end to the mid-point of the range depending on experience and qualifications.
