The Libraries at Agilent will be a centralized operation as of November 1, 2004. They are recognized throughout the company for providing comprehensive research, embracing new technologies and being profoundly committed to providing a customer-focused approach to service and training. The library staff includes 15.5 employees and 3 student assistants, providing services to a workforce of 28,000 employees worldwide.

The position of Business Research Analyst with the Libraries at Agilent will involve determining and developing approaches to business research information needs. The professional in this role will lead research projects requiring coordination with other functions and with third parties. They will solve a broad range of information requests of broad scope and advanced complexity.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • provide general business and marketing research and analysis in a deadline-driven environment
  • create competitive intelligence reports
  • coordinate and negotiate for market research reports company-wide and maintain the market research database
  • generate innovative ideas for and drive the implementation of new knowledge management tools
  • participate in team projects (such as collection development, marketing and writing, training, liaison work)
  • serve as a Business Unit team member and work with the business research support staff

  • academic degree or professional or educational background in the sciences or engineering or business
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
  • ALA-accredited master's degree in library/information science
  • at least 3 years of professional full-time service as a corporate business librarian
  • a strong understanding and use of digital and web-related technologies
