Part Time Reference Librarian, Argosy University, Point Richmond, CA

The Argosy University Library seeks a Sunday & Wednesday (13 hours per week) Reference Librarian. The hours are 10-3 on Sundays and 9-5:30 on Wednesdays.

Argosy University (formerly the American School of Professional Psychology) is comprised of fifteen campuses, nationwide. The AU/SFBA campus offers graduate programs at the master's and doctoral levels in clinical and counseling psychology, education, and business; and bachelor degree completion programs in psychology and business. By Fall 2006, we will have over 600 students, attending weekday, weeknight, and weekend courses. Argosy U/SFBA serves a diverse student body and encourages applications from under-served populations. Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility will be to assist students and faculty with academic research, in the areas of psychology, education, and business. This will include utilizing manual and electronic resources such as Ebsco, Nexis, and Digital Dissertations.

Secondary responsibility will include interlibrary loan processing, as time permits. The successful candidate will be willing to work on special projects during slow periods.

Position Requirements:

• Experience providing reference and research assistance and training;
• Basic computer skills;
• Commitment to working in a service-oriented environment;
• Good organizational skills; reliable work habits; ability to work independently.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Experience with automated library systems (AU/SFBA uses Voyager);
• Supervisory experience;
• Enthusiastic attitude and sense of humor.

Salary:

$25 per hour
