Berkeley Public Library, Berkeley, California: Deputy Director of Library Services

POSITION:

The Berkeley Public Library in Berkeley, California is seeking an innovative, progressive team player to assist the Library Director in administering library services to a diverse and vibrant urban city. This should be a person who believes striving for excellence can be fun! Major responsibilities include: leading in the development of system-wide technology plan, providing leadership in determination of service and staffing issues and assisting the Director in key administrative policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The qualified candidate should possess a MLS from a college or University accredited by the American Library Association, six (6) FTE years of management or administrative experience which has included three (3) FTE years as a professional librarian managing programs and services and three (3) FTE years of supervising and evaluating professional and technical staff.

SALARY & COMPENSATION:

The salary range (Effective 07/03/05) is $89,316 to $117,372. The City is not a part of Social Security but pays into two retirement programs and offers health/dental coverage.
