Innovative Interfaces Inc., Emeryville, California: Implementation Consultant, Implementation Services Department

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, who will provide implementation consultation and support service to new and existing customers through membership on project-oriented implementation teams. The position is based in the Emeryville office.

• Consult with new customers on database profile issues, including field mapping, indexing and display.
• Prepare internal system tables for data loads based on customer specifications.
• Monitor customer data loads.
• Troubleshoot data load problems and software problems using UNIX and Innovative utilities.
• Support other implementation team members as needed.
• Consult on and implement add-on products for existing customers.
• Other duties as assigned.

• MLS or other relevant degree.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience dealing with library data (in cataloging, acquisitions, circulation, etc.) or general database management.
• Understanding of library technical practices and procedures.
• Proven problem-solving ability.
• Attention to detail.
• An understanding of automated systems and information technologies.
• Facility for learning new software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently, as well as with others.
• Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure.
• Ability to follow detailed procedures, as well as create solutions on the spot for new problems.
• Strong commitment to and understanding of customer service.
• Adaptability.

• Experience with MARC formats.
• Experience with an Innovative system.
• UNIX experience.
• Spanish, French, Korean or Chinese language skills.
