Overview:

This visible, senior position will take the lead on coordinating the ongoing evolution of the INN-Reach resource-sharing product. The INN-Reach Product Manager reports to the Head of the Union Database Department and bridges Product Management, Product Development and Union Database for integrating processes and sharing product knowledge. This position is based at our headquarters in Emeryville, CA.

Responsibilities:

Lead the product evolution of INN-Reach, identifying customer and product needs and priorities.

Produce product requirements and oversee product design and specifications in consultation with customer base, sales staff, and software engineers.

• Provide regular development updates to key stakeholders.
• Coordinate product quality assurance testing.
• Identify and support beta sites for new product offerings and releases.
• Assist with the integration of new development into implementation and service routines.
• Serve as product information resource for Innovative's Sales, Marketing, and Library Service staff.
• Design and present product demonstrations.
• Some travel required.

Requirements:

• MLS and/or equivalent experience in libraries or the library automation marketplace.
• Minimum of 3 years related professional experience.
• A blend of technical knowledge, product advocacy, customer relations, and management skills is required.
• Self-initiated proactive collaboration between colleagues and departments. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Aptitude for technical detail.
• Ability to approach products from a marketing point of view.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
