OVERVIEW

Innovative is seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment to join the Union Database Services Department. The Union Database Services Department is a specialized unit for the implementation and use of the INN-Reach product. An Innovative flagship product, INN-Reach seamlessly connects multiple library automation systems and allows patrons from one library to request and borrow materials belonging to another library. Union Database Services develops on-going relationship with INN-Reach system starting with implementation through support and release enhancements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides implementation and consultation services for new and existing INN-Reach systems including database profiling, system configuration and product options.
• Manages a variety of implementation projects and support issues on a daily basis.
• Builds and maintains relationships with customer project leads from the beginning of implementation and extending throughout support services.
• Provides telephone and e-support for INN-Reach customers using Innovative software on large multi-user UNIX systems
• Works with customers with varying levels of technical expertise to effectively pursue and resolve issues in an expedient manner
• Analyzes, troubleshoots, documents, and resolves application issues reported by customers using UNIX and proprietary utilities
• Tests software fixes and evaluates INN-Reach software development.

REQUIREMENTS

• MLS or other relevant degree, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 1 year experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Library circulation department or library technical services
  • Software support or help desk
• Strong commitment to service
• Ability to manage multiple projects and swiftly adjust priorities
• Familiarity with automated library systems and information technologies
• Facility for learning new software
• Proven analytical and problem solving skills
• Detail-oriented approach with excellent follow-through
• Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work accurately under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment

• Fluency in Spanish, Arabic or Mandarin languages
• Previous experience working with an Innovative system and/or the INN-Reach product
• Previous experience working in a UNIX environment

Salary commensurate with experience.

Position based in the Emeryville office.
