LIBRARY ASSOCIATES seeks a Human Resources Assistant for our client in Chevy Chase, Maryland. The HR Assistant will maintain the employee records, provide
administrative support to Human Resources department, and oversee special
projects as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain Human Resources files by:
- Creating personal files for new employees;
- Updating active and terminated employee files with HR's copy of
employee transaction records, PAF, etc;
- Overseeing the annual archival of terminated files and the destruction
of archived employee files in accordance with the record retention schedule;
- Maintaining the intellectual property file;
- Suggesting and implementing changes in record keeping systems as
appropriate.
- Complete and file employment verifications.
- Generate and distribute semi-monthly inter and intra-departmental
transaction reports.
- Tabulate data for semi-monthly employee processing transaction reports.
- Update library reference materials.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in Library Science or Records Management.
- Minimum of five to ten years of relevant experience in records management.
- Experience with automated library systems.
- PC skills: Word, Excel, Access data base software.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to list and/or carry objects weighting up to 10 pounds, stoop and
bend, reach and grasp with arms and hands.
