Description:

Library Associates is recruiting for a team of Medical Records Clerks for Copying/Scanning positions in various cities in Northern California. This is 4-5-week temporary project, and Clerks must be able to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and commit to the length of the project. Extreme punctuality is required. Rate $12.00 + mileage and cell phone reimbursement.

Training Period:

  • Attend classroom-style training during first stage of project;
  • Pass proficiency exam with a score of 95% or better at end of training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Visit physicians' offices to gather required medical documentation
  • Scan medical charts using laptop computer and scanner (to be provided to each Clerk by Company)
  • Burn files from laptop to CDs
  • Ship CDs and paperwork, following strict written protocols and directions
  • Assume responsibility for all computer equipment and safety for financial audits
  • Access daily schedules via Internet

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Must maintain accuracy standards of 95% or better throughout duration of project
  • Must be extremely punctual throughout duration of project
  • Will drive self to and from physicians' offices on a daily basis
  • Maintain professional appearance and demeanor at all times
  • Work in accordance with HIPAA and ensure standards are met for HIPAA guidelines at all times
  • Communicate with supervisor on daily basis

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 6 months of medical records experience as a medical records clerk, medical office assistant, or in medical terminology;
  • Must be proficient in Windows and Adobe Acrobat (PDF) files;
  • Must be physically able and willing to transport and carry small equipment, such as laptop computer and scanner, up to 25 pounds;
  • Must have home computer with high-speed Internet access, own e-mail account and printer;
  • Must check schedules daily online;
  • Most possess a working cell phone for daily communication with supervisor - cell phone expenses will be reimbursed by Company to Clerks;
  • Must have excellent computer skills, including the following:
  • Ability to copy files to CD,
  • Transfer files via secure-file-transfer site using web portal,
  • Operating scanner equipment;
  • Must provide own reliable transportation;
  • Will be held 100% responsible for any and all damage to or loss of the equipment.

Schedule

  • Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Anticipated duration of project is four to five (4-5) weeks.
  • Must be able to commit to duration of project.
  • Must be extremely punctual.
