Legal Reference Librarian, Library Associates [Recruiter], Beverly Hills, CA

Library Associates is seeking an energetic, customer-oriented Legal Reference Librarian who will provide reference and research services for the Los Angeles office of a prominent Law firm. We are seeking dynamic, energetic candidates with strong professional associations.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide research assistance and handle information requests for attorneys, legal assistants and support staff by phone, e-mail, or in person.
• Utilize print and online legal and non-legal resources.
• Perform cost effective online research using Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, Internet and other online services.
• Contribute content to firm's Intranet.
• Participate in or conduct attorney and staff training sessions.
• Assist Head of Reference Services in developing training and outreach programs for attorneys and staff.
• Assist Head of Reference Services with collection maintenance and weeding.
• Work on special projects as assigned by the Head of Reference Services or LA Library Manager.
• Participate in Knowledge Management initiatives as assigned by the Director of Firmwide Libraries and Knowledge Management.

Qualifications:

• Four year college and MLS degree required.
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a law library preferred.
• Proficiency with Lexis/Nexis, Westlaw, Internet and other online resources.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written with commitment to service.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
