Library Director, William Jessup University, Rocklin, CA

William Jessup University invites applications for the position of Library Director. The Library Director provides leadership and overall management of library services, collections, and staff in support of the William Jessup University community. The Director is responsible for all aspects of library administration, including staff recruitment and supervision, budget planning and administration, facilities planning, collection development and management, marketing and external relations, and public services.

The incoming Library Director will assess the Library's current policies and practices and develop a vision to guide the Library into the future of information organization and retrieval. The Director will collaborate with the librarians and library staff to draft a dynamic plan for implementing the vision and for ensuring continuous assessment-driven improvement.

The Library Director reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs. This is a 12-month position and begins January 2007 or sooner. The search will remain open until the position is filled. Minority and female candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.

Christian Commitment:
The Library Director must be a thoughtful, articulate Christian and an active member of a Protestant and evangelical church. The individual must understand and support the College's mission by expressing an evangelical Christian profession of faith and demonstrate the ability to integrate a Christian perspective in their work.

Education and Experience

• Minimum: Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program; preference will be given to applicants possessing a Ph. D in a related field.
• A minimum of three years of library-related experience.
