Library Assistant Technical Services Robert M. Fisher Library, John F. Kennedy University, Pleasant Hill campus.

Regular, full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Schedule will be Monday through Friday, hours flexible.

Salary range $12.06 - $16.29 per hour.

The non-exempt grade 3 position includes vacation and sick leave and a flexible benefit package that includes medical, dental, long term disability, 401(k) retirement eligibility, dependent care, voluntary life and/or long term care insurance and tuition waiver benefits.

John F. Kennedy University is a private institution offering degree and certificate programs in the fields of liberal arts, management, psychology, holistic studies and law. The University Library System is comprised of a main library (Fisher) and two branch libraries.

Qualifications:

• The requirements of this position include a Bachelors degree or equivalent and one year relevant library experience (a Library Technicians certificate or additional experience may substitute for up to two years of college).
• Familiarity with Windows software, accurate typing (50 wpm minimum), legible handwriting, organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are also essential.
• Knowledge of Innovative Interfaces/Millennium or other library automated systems and prior experience in an academic library and/or library technical services department is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Duties include coordinating serials management for all three libraries plus the Career Resource Center, and processing and shelving journals at the main library.
• Additional duties include receiving, routing and physically processing new library materials, managing quarterly course reserve materials, searching titles in the librarys automated system and other online databases, and maintaining statistical collection data and generating reports.
• The successful candidate will be able to independently manage a variety of time-sensitive duties and interact effectively with a diverse constituency of university staff and faculty members
