Library Associates seeks experienced candidates for the full-time, regular position of Legal Research Librarian in the Washington, DC, branch of a large national law firm

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Work in a dynamic, growing firm supporting the research needs of a diverse group of attorneys and lobbyists;
  • Legal, business, marketing and client development reference and research utilizing electronic and print resources;
  • Develop outreach policies and programs to further the research partnership between the library and the attorneys;
  • Work with local database vendors and representatives to set up training and demonstrations;
  • Manage one full-time library staff member;
  • Participate in professional activities, as appropriate, representing the firm;
  • Work with the firm's other librarians in various offices, including the main office in Los Angeles on special projects, including web content development for the firm's Intranet.

Qualifications:

  • MLIS/MLS;
  • 3-5 years of research and reference experience in a law library;
  • LexisNexis, Westlaw, Internet, print and online legal database searching experience;
  • Professionalism, excellent customer-service and communication skills.
