Library Associates seeks an experienced Librarian who has demonstrated knowledge of international development programs and agencies to manage the library operations to support the research and information activities of a major non-profit independent government agency. The successful candidate must have subject expertise in any or all of the areas of economic growth, agriculture and trade, global health, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance.

The Manager position will include leadership and guidance to a staff of librarians, researchers and knowledge management specialists. The operation of the library includes reference and research services, electronic resource management, inter-library loans and circulation, training and database searching assistance, web page development and content management, collection development, outreach and marketing as well ad interaction and collaboration with other professionals and units within the agency.

**This position is in support of a government contract that Library Associates is bidding on, and candidates who qualify must be willing to sign a commitment letter. The actual project is expected to begin in early February 2007. This contract will take place in Washington D.C.**

Qualifications:

  • MLS from an accredited ALA institution;
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience in managing a large department or library in a government agency, academic or learning institution or any similar organization that is involved in the relevant subject areas;
  • Experience in any or all of the following subject areas: economic growth, agriculture and trade, global health, conflict prevention and humanitarian assistance.
