| Description: | The County of Solano announces an employment opportunity for LIBRARIAN (supervising) SALARY: $54,445 - $66,178 LAST DATE TO APPLY: Open/Continuous THE POSITION: Plans, organizes and supervises a large library section or a small library branch with several professional librarians and technical support staff. The eligibility list established will be used to fill Supervising Librarian vacancies as they occur. Responsibilities include the training and supervision of staff; scheduling; providing professional and outreach services directly to the public; making budget recommendations and monitoring expenditures; representing the library in the community; assisting in policy formulation and implementation; and collection development. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Three years of professional library services experience with supervisory training and experience. Possession of a Master's Degree in Library Science from an accredited college or university is required. All candidates must submit a copy of their college degree (verifying the degree, date earned and it must clearly show area of specialization) or transcripts (verifying the courses and units completed). Failure to submit your degree or transcripts within 5 days from the final filing date will disqualify you from the recruitment. Candidates who attended a college or university that is accredited by a foreign or non-U.S. accrediting agency must have their educational units evaluated by an educational evaluation service. The result must be submitted to the Human Resources Department no later than the close of the recruitment. Please contact your local college or university to learn where you can obtain this service. OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Class C California driver's license may be required. Independent travel is required.
