| Description: | #002524-LIBRARY ASSISTANT II, Library, Permanent, Full-time (1.0 time base, 40 hrs/wk), $2,958.00-$4,437.00/mo. Plus a $220.00 per month shift differential. Working hours: 3:15pm to 12:15am. Working hours subject to change. Flexibility is needed for back-up coverage and quarter break hour changes. The Circulation Services unit of Access Services in the University Library makes available library materials for circulation, maintains inventory control over all circulating materials, maintains physical collections, handles all financial issues relating to circulation, and serves as a public contact/public relations area within the Library. Under general supervision, this position will provide services to patrons in Access Services of the CSUEB Library at the Hayward campus. The duties and responsibilities of this position will include: coordinating all aspects of the Concord campus and Link+ paging (placing and clearing holds, paging and 'reverse' paging, processing requests, sending items back and forth by courier); handling the LINK+ process, including serving as the primary contact person for daily operations; providing services at the Circulation Desk (check-in/out materials, place holds and renewals, register users, produce photo IDs, collect fines and clear encumbrances, process proxy cards, supervision of student assistants); serving as the building supervisor for Sunday and evening hours (open and close the library, monitor all public service areas, schedule student assistants for stack maintenance, answer phone and customer inquiries); and participating in the training of circulation desk students. |
