| Description: | LAC is seeking an enthusiastic and bright candidate for the position of Science / Pharmaceutical Librarian for a company located in Palo Alto, CA. The Librarian is responsible for providing end-user support and training, ongoing copyright education, collection indexing and document delivery services for the entire client organization.
Responsibilities
· Manage on- and off-site Library Services; · Prepare & communicate monthly, quarterly and annual deliverables to client; · Collaborate with end-users and business/project teams to identify information needs; · Help to streamline workflows and deliver content efficiently; · Work in conjunction with vendors and technology teams to evaluate, integrate and deploy information solutions across the organization; · Assist users with reference questions, customer service and/or assess issues related to Information Resources and services; · Process and track requests for the purchase of books, subscriptions, pay per view document delivery orders and other materials ; · Help to implement new subscriptions and to manage subscription renewals and cancellations; · Provide overall management for the organization of content on the client’s Digital Library, including the integration of e-Journals, databases and information resources based on various end-user needs; · Participate in ongoing indexing as new content is added to the client’s electronic repository; · Coordinate Information Center open-house activities and resource training sessions; · Participate in other tasks and projects as necessary;
Position Requirements
· MLS/MLIS from an ALA accredited institution · Three to five years of experience in a corporate pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical services library; · Previous document delivery and workflow management experience; · Proven ability to multi-task, manage change and meet client expectations; · Proficiency using Dialog, DataStar, PubMed, SciFinder, STN, Factiva and various publisher platforms and pipeline databases; · Proficiency with desktop software, strong aptitude for learning new software; · Proficiency utilizing Web-design platforms and tools · Demonstrated ability to design, manage and update an Information Portal based on the needs of the organization ;
