LAC seeks qualified candidates for the position of Business Analyst, for our client, one of the fastest growing digital content distributors worldwide. This challenging position calls for an enthusiastic, ambitious candidate with strong technical skills and a background in business analysis. This position is located in the Nashville, TN area.
Responsibilities
- Interview customers and vendors to get requirements and turn them into functional and design specifications.
- Lead project implementation & supervision which will include:
- definition of tasks, deadline dates, task assignment definitions, communicating with each person with assigned tasks, and ensuring that all tasks related to an implementation are completed on time and within budget;
- Technical analysis of integration points between systems and customer requirements to define and document integration requirements, including industry standards for inter-company integration projects, ILS integration projects, and presentation requirements
- Responsible for assigned customer and business partner relationships through the entire life cycle of implementation projects;
- Review incoming change requests for completeness & accuracy, as well as with the business unit leads as needed to resolve discrepancies, evaluate urgency and revenue opportunities associated with each request;
- Perform training on assigned project deliverables as needed;
- Develop QA test plans and/or evaluate existing QA test plans for accuracy and completeness. Assist with QA testing as needed to ensure that the business requirements defined in the analysis phase are met. Perform gap and incident analysis and documentation;
- Deliver product presentations and sales support as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or some college with additional experience strongly preferred;
- MLS from an ALA accredited school preferred;
- 5 years experience in developing business or system requirements;
- 3 years experience in library or library system vendor environment preferred;
- 3 years experience leading implementation projects and managing external relationships;
- Visio proficiency is a plus;
- Publishing or book industry experience a plus;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
- Experience with digital content preferred;
- Technical proficiency with experience in business requirements and integration analysis, including experience reading and implementing industry standards (X12, BISAC, MARC, XML);
- MS Office Suite proficiency, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook;
