| Description: | Library Associates Companies (LAC) is seeking for immediate consideration a dynamic and organized candidate for the position of Assistant Librarian in a high-tech/Internet environment in Silicon Valley. This position offers opportunity for professional growth and might be ideal for an MLIS student looking to work in a fast-paced corporate library. Primary Responsibilities · Reconcile and prepare library materials for shelving · Run and process required SirsiDynix Horizon ILS system reports for library · Fill item requests and handle daily mailings · Process new titles and serials · Maintain daily library stats · Perform recalls of materials · Review All-Request List · Shelf-read · Follow up with missing shipments; update Horizon system · Ordered library supplies · Assist library customers with locating materials · Other duties as assigned Qualifications · Enrollment in program and/or coursework toward Master of Library & Information Science strongly preferred · Library experience preferred · Strong organizational skills mandatory · High comfort with technology, computers, new software programs, new systems, etc. · Ability to self-teach in a fast-paced environment · Flexibility and adaptability · Punctuality and reliable attendance · Must have 2 years' solid work history.
