The UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management seeks applications from qualified individuals for the position of Director, Academic Information Systems, classified as an MSP Grade 5.

The Director, Academic Information Systems provides leadership, coordination and oversight for knowledge-based information technology applications within the Library/Center for Knowledge Management and collaborative projects with campus academic programs; the Director provides the conceptual, strategic, and managerial functions for information technologies and resources within the Center and is responsible for Library/CKM systems, applications development, desktop support and student computing facilities; additionally, the incumbent will serve as the technical and/or project director for current grant funded projects including those in clinical and translational research (CTSI) and tobacco industry documents; the incumbent serves on IT committees for the campus, schools and UC; and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in information systems or related area or equivalent education and experience; five or more years working in an academic environment; ten or more years administrative experience managing personnel, systems, projects; broad expertise with computing, networking and applications development; knowledge of information systems generally used in an academic environment; strong communications skills. Note: Fingerprinting and background check required.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a University of California campus; general understanding of the healthcare environment; experience in a service environment.

Compensation
Classified as a MSP Grade 5, $8,158 - $13,467 per month, full time rate. Starting salary usually in the lower end of the range depending on experience and qualifications. This is a career position with an excellent package of health, vacation, and retirement benefits.
