The UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management seeks applications from qualified individuals for the position of Director, Clinical Research "Virtual Home", classified as a MSP Grade 3.

The incumbent will direct the development and implementation of strategies for a core component of the newly created Clinical & Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) whose goal is to promote the collaborative pursuit of excellence in translating basic science discoveries into patient care; the incumbent has primary strategic and operational responsibility for developing a technology-mediated, service-focused "Virtual Home" including reviewing and coordinating all activities, ensuring timely progress to goals, preparing progress reports, working with advisory bodies, and public relations; perform other duties as assigned.

2-3 years work experience in an academic research environment; 4-5 years project management experience; 2-3 years experience developing or implementing online information systems and/or collaboration tools; 5-8 years administrative experience; MS degree in information technology or scientific field or equivalent knowledge and experience; excellent written and spoken English communication skills.

2-3 years work experience in a academic health science research environment; Project Management certification; experience overseeing the development of web-based application systems; experience writing grant proposals.

Classified as a MSP Grade 3, $6,733 - $11,117 per month, full time rate. Starting salary usually in the lower end of the range depending on experience and qualifications. This is a career position with an excellent package of health, vacation, and retirement benefits.
