The UCSF Library and Center for Knowledge Management seeks applications from qualified individuals for the position of Education Program Assistant, classified as a _____Assistant III.

Under supervision of Manager, Education & Information Services, incumbent will provide administrative support including scheduling, marketing, and publicity for classes, programs and services through web, email, and print mechanisms; provide services and information to Library users in support of education, reference, and information services including in-person, phone, and email assistance and interlibrary lending services support in a customer service oriented environment; create, edit, format, and produce reports and instructional materials; perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Experience using MS Windows and MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; demonstrated organizational skills; experience handling tasks such as scheduling, and coordinating projects; experience working in an educational environment; knowledge/experience working in a customer service driven environment; excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and colleagues; ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities in a timely manner while working under pressure and with frequent distractions; excellent accuracy and attention to detail; good editing skills; background or interest in graphic design; background or interest in PR, marketing, or sales; ability to assimilate large amounts of information accurately and quickly; ability to work with a diverse group of individuals in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
Basic web editing skills; demonstrated skills designing print and Web materials; recent experience in an academic or biomedical library; editing and proofreading experience; experience with graphics and publishing applications such as Photoshop and InDesign.

Compensation
Classified as a ____Assistant III, $3,177 - $4,351 per month, full time rate. Starting salary usually in the lower end of the range depending on experience and qualifications. This is a career position with an excellent package of health, vacation, and retirement benefits.
