DATA PROFILING ANALYST
IMPLEMENTATION SERVICES DEPARTMENT

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, who will provide consultation and support service to new and existing customers through membership on project-oriented implementation teams. The position is based in the Emeryville office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consult with new customers on database profile issues, including field mapping, indexing and display.
- Prepare internal system tables for data loads based on customer specifications.
- Troubleshoot data load problems and software problems using UNIX and Innovative utilities.
- Consult on and implement add-on products and services in the areas of data profiling, indexing and web technologies.
- Participate in product implementation teams with the objective of designing a plan for the fast, efficient and customer-friendly implementation of the product.
- Support other implementation team members as needed.
- Teach the Load Profile Training workshop for existing customers.
- Complete time tracking and project reports on time
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Computer Science degree, M.L.S. or equivalent experience.
- Understanding of library technical practices and procedures
- Experience in data analysis and data manipulation.
- Strong UNIX experience; familiarity with perl, shell scripting, and standard content parsing tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with Web technologies, such as HTML, XML, CSS, SSL, Open URL.
- Proven problem-solving ability.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work effectively and accurately under pressure.
- Ability to meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines.
- Demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.
- Strong commitment to customer service.
DESIRED
- Experience with MARC formats and cataloging rules.
- Experience with Innovative’s Millennium software.
- Fluency in Spanish, French or Mandarin languages.
