Description:

LIBRARY TECHNICAL SERVICES MANAGER

Menlo College (www.menlo.edu) seeks qualified applicants for the position of Library Technical Services Manager.

Reporting to the Dean of Library Services, the Technical Services Manager is responsible for the acquisition and cataloging of information resources in all formats — print and digital, monographic and serial. He or she may assist in other areas of library operations.

This is a permanent paraprofessional position with an expected salary in the low- to mid-40s. The work schedule allows considerable flexibility, although some evening and weekend hours may be required. We would prefer to hire someone who can work full-time, although applications for part-time employment (at least 20 hours per week) will be considered.

The successful candidate will be able to work independently as the Library's sole cataloger. He or she will have demonstrated expertise in the cataloging of books, serials, videorecordings, e-books and other online resources.

The position involves some original LC cataloging. Experience with INNOPAC/Millennium is preferred. Acquisitions and serials management expertise is not essential, although the Technical Services Manager must be willing and able to assume responsibility for both cataloging and acquisitions. (In-house acquisitions training will be provided, if necessary.)

Menlo College is a private undergraduate college offering bachelor's degrees in management, mass communication, psychology, and history. Located on the San Francisco Peninsula halfway between San Francisco and San Jose, the College has an international student body and values a diverse faculty, staff, and administration.

Please submit a cover letter outlining your qualifications for the position, with a resume and contact information for three references. Applications may be mailed or sent as e-mail attachments to
