Paul Leonard Library Calling for Temporary Librarian Pool Temporary Non-Tenure Track San Francisco State University, a member of the California State University system, serves a diverse student body of 28,000 undergraduate and graduate students. The University seeks to promote appreciation of scholarship, freedom and human diversity through excellence in instruction and intellectual accomplishment. Classification and Salary: Assistant Librarian (Lecturer) Salary: $3,594 minimum, depending on qualifications (monthly full-time equivalent) Positions: Full or part-time temporary positions may be available beginning Fall semester 2007 or at other times as needed. Most appointments will be in the Information, Research and Instructional Services (IRIS) division where temporary librarians provide research assistance to a diverse community of university students and faculty. Depending on qualifications and subject background, temporary librarians may participate in group instruction, web development, research guides development, and/or collections support. There may also be temporary positions to support cataloging, special collections and archives. Qualifications: Required: MLS from an ALA-accredited institution. Preferred: Experience providing reference service and group instruction in an academic, research or large public library. Experience developing print and/or Web-based guides for library instruction. Web experience in area of design, development or maintenance. Experience appropriate to special collections/archives positions. Working knowledge of languages in addition to English.
